Shot Darts' Tori Kewish cleans up the Australian Darts Open
Congratulations to Tori Kewish, who earned the title of Australian 2019 Ladies Singles Champion third year running! Tori took this out at the 40th Annual Australian Champs, this was her fifth time representing Victoria. She also won gold in the team events, the mixed doubles event, female doubles event and was selected for the Australian team for Romania in October. Not a bad week’s effort.
Tori says "Wow that I have had my post championships nap and unpacked my case I'll just recap the last 2 week's I've had.
Started off playing in the first-ever Australian Open which was an experience of a lifetime, absolutely stoked that I got to be involved in such an incredible event. And can't wait to watch it get bigger and better!
Last week I was playing in the 40th annual Australian Championships. My 5th time representing Victoria.
First up was the Peter Mac 4s. In which we won, thanks to the girls for a great 2 days.
Then was the mixed doubles and I'm incredibly proud to have won it once again with my guy Justin Thompson 4 years in a row.. how amazing is that! No one I would rather do that with.
Then followed up that day with a doubles win with Jo, not an easy day but we got there in the end.
Then went on to win the Australian singles for the 3rd year straight, I am super happy with how I played.. had some hard games where the scoreline didn't justify the quality in my opponents, ladies darts here in Australia is just getting better and better.
Always managed top average in the team's event.
To end it all I was selected for the Australian team which will head to Romania start of October, which I'm over the moon about. My 3rd green and gold shirt and I've been beyond proud to wear it for the past 3 years. There is no greater feeling than being selected to represent your country and I will forever be grateful for each opportunity in which I get to. It's an honour. Bring on Romania! "
