Champion's Choice: Michael Smith Signs Extended Deal with Shot Darts

Having initially signed with Shot on July 1st 2023, we’re delighted to announce that Michael Smith has agreed a new long-term deal to remain part of the Shot Darts Tribe, extending his stay by another seven years in a partnership that has already proved incredibly successful and yields great promise and excitement for all involved.

From the moment our Kiwi darts company met 2023 World Champion Bully Boy, it became apparent that our core beliefs, values and ambitions were aligned, something all parties are exceedingly proud of. It really is the perfect fit.

Having just won the gold medal and the title of World Cup of Darts Champions for England along with teammate Luke Humphries, along with his maiden PDC title as a Shot player in Hildesheim, Germany back in May, everyone involved has full confidence that the 33-year-old will go from strength to strength and continue to be a remarkable ambassador for our brand.

On the new deal, Smith said: ‘It’s great, it secures things for my family for the next few years. It’s massive. Not just for me throwing the darts but my children get their school fees covered, they get the best start in life, there’s nothing better or more important than that. “It’s been such a good partnership over the last 12 months, and I think things can and will get even better. They want to keep pushing their brand in Europe and I want to make it in the United States, Australia and New Zealand and it’s working."

“Every time I talk with the Shot team, they make things so easy and straightforward for me. Whether I want a new set of darts, something changed with my flights or stems, it’s done. I feel like I’m in control of situations and they help and support me to make whatever I feel most comfortable with, happen. For now, it’s another seven years for myself and Shot to work together but I don’t believe this will be the last contract I sign."

“I’ve got one of the best darts out there and you can see everything is coming back for me. My scoring is really good again, my doubles are back where they used to be and I’m starting to look like my old self again - next, it’s about winning more tournaments and picking up more titles.”
