Having fun with darts
Enjoying what you're doing, in my opinion, is a huge part of playing the game to the level that you, personally, want to play. I am a very social person, and going to darts, it is really important for me to continually interact with my mates there and not get too serious about the game itself. Otherwise, the fun and happiness it brings to you won't be there for very long and you'll lose interest and forget about exactly why you started to play darts.
Going back to the basics is also very important. If you have mates that are also enjoying themselves whilst playing the game, then they're more likely to keep playing it simply because they're enjoying it, and you do too. Not just because they're good at it, or because they're winning. You gotta have fun, as well as playing at an elite level; that's where your best performances come out.
At the end of the day, it is important to know that you had fun, did your best and gave it your all for the GAME you love playing. After the competition is all over it is good to catch up with other competitors and a good way to make new friends.
Play hard and have fun.
