Vale, Kyle Anderson
Here at Shot we were gutted to hear the sad news this week about the passing of Kyle ‘The Original’ Anderson, one of our incredible Pro players. Kyle was not only the first Aussie to Win a PDC Tour Card, he was also the first Aboriginal professional darts player in history.
A proud Noongar man from Perth, he became the first Aboriginal person to win World Series of Darts in 2017, in the final of the Auckland Darts Masters.
He was an absolute joy to work with – reflecting his reputation for generosity, a cheeky sense of humour and genuine love of the game. Kyle was well respected for the huge contribution he made to the game he loved, including the massive amount of grassroots nurturing and support he gave to the next generation of players.
Our deepest condolences go out to Kyle’s family – his wife and sons, and wider whanau – many of whom have been such a big part of his journey as a player. Kyle, we and the international darts community will miss you deeply.
Peter & the Shot family.
